3M’s Electronics and Energy Business Group (EEBG) business finance has an immediate opening for an imaginative, enthusiastic and entrepreneurial Financial Analyst in Electronic Solutions Division (ESD).

The person in this role, to be stationed out of beautiful and sunny Austin, TX will be responsible for the financial counsel of ESD’s newly formed Flexibles, Electronic & Substrates Business Development Unit (BDU) which is the fastest growing business platform in EEBG with a diverse product line ranging from Touch Sensor Panels to Flexible circuits catering the consumer electronics market.

Roles and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Finance lead in the implementation of touch sensor business opportunity with VP and EVP level visibility
- Strong oversight of PC Touch legal entity & operations located in 3M Singapore’s Woodlands and Tuas sites
- Strong involvement in the U.S. P&L close each month, including necessary analysis
- Finance representative on the global business team, providing monthly analysis of worldwide financial results and attainment of targets
- Finance lead in Strategic Plan, Operating Plan, Quarterly operating roll (QOR) and monthly rolling estimate (MRE) processes.
- Evaluation of financial merit of diverse projects and initiatives, some them being, but not limited to: Capital investments, product consolidations, product transfers or moves, Lean six sigma evaluations & tracking, operating expense budgeting, RM substitutions, outsourcing, pricing, acquisitions, divestitures, new product introductions and others
- Proactively develop diverse analyzes and work with business to drive change and operating plan attainment
- Assure full compliance with U.S. GAAP and 3M financial standards

Location: The person hired for the position of Financial Analyst will be located in Austin, TX and relocation benefits are currently authorized for this position. This position will include some travel to Asia Pacific (APAC).

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics or engineering from an accredited university
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting and/or finance
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial statement analysis and/or execution of business queries

Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA in Finance, Accounting and/or Economics from an accredited university
- Minimum of 3 years of experience of providing business counsel
- CPA and/or CMA certification
- Advanced knowledge of Excel
- Minimum of 1 year of international experience
- Project management experience
- Minimum of 3 years experience driving NPI and new business opportunity identification
- Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing financial counsel
- SAP experience
- Sound analytical skills
- Solid communication skills
- Considers implications beyond own area across functions, businesses, countries
- Ability to find alternative paths to reach objectives
- Demonstrates ability to think "outside the box" and embrace change
- Proven problem solver and success implementing success change
