3M is seeking a Technical Aide for the Renewable Energy Division
Job Summary:
This particular position is a temporary, part-time assignment with 3M's Technical Aide Program and is not benefit eligible. The Technical Aide Program is designed to support the 3M technical community. As a Technical Aide located in Maplewood, MN, you will be assisting the 3M technical staff in the performance of their Job Responsibilities. It is a great way to get relevant work experience that complements your education.
Roles and Responsibilities: Duties include formulation of coating compositions, assisting with small scale coating, drying, and curing, measurement of coated film and general testing of both development and production materials. Good record keeping and ability to operate safely in the lab are needed. Should feel comfortable asking questions, eventually, operating on their own once trained. Helpful if versed in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and word usage for record keeping and communicating.
Location: Maplewood, MN
This position is limited to working 899 hours per service credit year
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Enrolled in or graduated from a Post-High School Science or Engineering degree program
- Current cumulative GPA of a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
Preferred Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled or graduated from a Post-High School degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or related discipline with an accredited university, having completed at a minimum your Freshman year
- Other Science or Engineering disciplines will be considered
- Experience working in a laboratory environmentExperience with Minitab and/or Excel
- Self-starter
- Team player with the ability to contribute in a matrix environment
