Description
3M Health Care is looking for a Technical Support Engineer - Sterilization Hardware to support our Infection Prevention Business.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Become the Global service technical expert for current and new Steri-Vac sterilization systems
- Maintain and update service manuals, installation guides, and troubleshooting guides
- Prepare and publish hardware technical service bulletins and documentation, post on HCSC web site for global use
- Participate on the Steri-Vac NPI team
- Submit Configuration Management Requests (CMR's) to request changes to documentation or products
- Maintain service parts lists for each Steri-Vac model
- Identify special tools and materials and maintain lists needed to service the hardware systems
- Work with the IPD Lab and Materials Control to ensure correct and adequate service parts are inventoried
- Write and maintain service plans for the product line and new hardware offerings
- Train 3M and 3rd party field service providers as needed
- Work with sales in a supportive manner to facilitate sales
- Represent service on product improvement and new product teams
- Coordinate documentation for equipment installations as needed
- Coordinate and lead technical training during the HCSC Field Service meeting
Travel: Ability to travel (typically 10%, occasional periods of 25%)
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status)
Qualifications
Basic/Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree from an accredited University in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years experience in Medical Field Service or Field Support
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters degree or higher from an accredited University
- Experience repairing and maintaining complex sterilization or medical diagnostic equipment
- Experience working wtih electromechanical technologies
- Experience/understanding of Installation Qualificiation and/or Operational Qualification process and documentation
- Strong computer and software skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Customer oriented and the ability to work calmly and effectively with demanding customers
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Familiar with medical industry requirements
- Project management experience
